Terraform - Certification

Hashicorp provide their own certification called the "HashiCorp Certificate: Terraform Associate".

2020 - 002

I attained this in Late 2020, and overall much of the Exam was straight-forward if you've used Terraform before.

A common issue I came across was related to Terraform Cloud, and it's usage. It may be worthwhile signing up for a free account and testing it before you do the exam. However, it doesn't amount of a large portion of the exam in total.

The exam was an online-only proctored Exam and in my case was limited to PSI. You may experience waiting times to get into the exam longer than the exam itself.

2024 - 003

Re-Certifying for this exam, the newer version seems to have ~55 questions to answer. The exam itself was quite quick, taking approximately 20 minutes.

However I did have an issue where my webcam wasn't able to scan my ID clear enough, and their only method of submitting alternative ID is to call a technical support phone number in Massachusetts (US) internationally (No AU or Freecall Numbers available) and get one of them to AnyDesk in to take a screenshot of my own photo's of the ID. Other Proctored exams have other methods of obtaining this ID, such as using a secure website to upload photo's of everything in your environment. The process was painful, and took an extra 45 minutes, 20 of which was on the phone to an international number. Thankfully I have International calling enabled on my phone plan.
